TO: Michael Green, SuperintendentFROM: Mark Houk RE: YALE SCHOOL MONTHLY UPDATE
We really have some "Movers and Shakers" up at Yale these days! Spurned on by positive relations with our staff team, parent volunteers, and our PTO have been such a positive force the past couple years. Recently, in partnership with Yale Staff,
Mrs. Ronell Pietz crafted a $5,000 grant request from the NEA for the innovative idea of building a greenhouse and garden to enhance student learning about environment, the process of plant life. Also planned, is a pumpkin patch in which Yale will attempt to grow their own pumpkins for their annual Great Pumpkin Search in the Fall.
Only two such grant awards were made in the state of Washington this year!
My continued appreciation to the collaborative relationships being formed between staff and parents in our Yale community!
Looking Forward
We have discovered that no special permitting will be required to complete our Yale Apple Project - so shovels in the dirt are imminent. Again, this will call for and enhanced sport court area complete with 6-foot fencing, quality baskets/backboards and bright lines on the cement!
