Here is an overview of the key activities we worked on in relation to teaching and learning this month.
Monday’s: Our Monday staff development work has taken on a whole new look this year. We have been working closely with the middle school staff to learn more about what industries and expecting of our students as well as how that relates to the common core standards. In addition, we have been learning about how the brain is impacted by different type of activities. We have done all of this work/learning collaboratively.
Other information: Our class sizes look good, with a few exceptions. Our master schedule appears to be working quite well. As we have come to expect, it has been a very smooth re-opening to the school year. We also are just beginning the process to prepare for our Homecoming week as we had the princess assembly last week. I also have found that spending two days a week in classrooms has been very worthwhile and I believe this “coaching” model is helping to improve teacher’s practices.
