RE Yale:
CAST Meetings: During our mid-year review of student progress we noted several students making good academic gains but that some have developing social/emotional/behavioral struggles. Parents have been partnering with our teachers and counseling staff but would like greater support for their children. Now that Lower Columbia Counseling Services is located in Woodland parents would like to access their services, however regular travel costs from Yale to Woodland is prohibitive for them. Fortunately the owners of the local casino recently approached our schools looking for ways to invest and support kids in our area. I recommended gas cards for these families so they can access the services they need here in town. The casino likes the idea and we look forward to connecting the families to services via the resources provided by our community partners at the casino.
