RE: Summary of Teaching and Learning
Woodland Middle School is up and running!
Students and teachers first met on August 31 for lunch and lockers. Students had the opportunity to get their schedule, practice their locker combination, tour the school, meet teachers, and put money in their lunch account. Additionally, a free hot dog lunch was served to all attendees. The barbeque idea came from our community involvement group on our school improvement team. The total cost of this event, including staff t-shirts, was $350.00. We had food for 900 and most of the items were donated. This was a huge success!
The math department met several days over the summer and has already had two release days for training. Please check out the Woodland Middle School mathematics department Moodle website when you have a chance.
Monday meetings have focused on department meetings, Navigations, and student-led conferences.
Staff and students are excited to be back for another great year; albeit some are having trouble getting used to getting up.
