March Update
Woodland Intermediate School
Professional development during the month of March focused on reconfiguration. Multiple Monday mornings included teaming between the 5-8 teachers. Planning, organizing systems, identifying questions to left to answer, and work remaining to complete all took place.
Our trimester celebration occurred the week before Spring Break. More than half of our student population earned +’s in each section of the Life and Learning portion of their second trimester report card. This qualified them to participate in the celebration. All enjoyed drinks, cookies, music, a raffle, and socializing in the gym.
We continue to prepare for SBA testing. Students are taking practicing tests, teachers are implementing activities with students, and all staff are undergoing proctor training.
We recently received notice from OSPI that WIS will be receiving another Washington Achievement Award. This will be our fifth Washington Achievement Award in the last seven years. This year we were recognized for High Progress. An awards ceremony will be held in late April. The April update will contain additional information pertaining to the award.
