The state has environmental health and safety requirements for schools that are identified in WAC 246-366. In addition, there are new requirements that will be implemented in August 2019 and codified in WAC 246-366A. These new requirements will require testing of water for lead, copper, and other contaminants. Mr. Landrigan has done most of this testing in the last year and has expanded this fall to radon testing.
Policy 6515 references the regulatory requirements identified in WAC and gives Mr. Landirgan the authority to engage in testing and remedial action that he determines appropriate.
Procedure 6515P will be developed to accompany and detail the testing procedures for water, radon, and other environmental hazards.
