Given the challenges of bargaining a successor collective bargaining agreement the Woodland Education Association has tentatively agreed to extend the current contract for one year. During the four years that the expiring contract has been in effect, there have been a number of agreements to clarify or modify existing contract language. In addition, there have been changes in law and practice with medical insurance, shared leaves, and other negotiated elements of the contract. These changes have been compiled in the Memorandum of Understanding that rolls over the CBA.
Economically we have agreed to increase the salary schedule by the 1.6% IPD (Cost of Living Increase) plus we have incorporated a $50,000 medical benefit pool into the salary as a 0.4% increase above the 1.6% IPD(for a total of 2% increase) plus a $200 one time payment to employees.
The shift of the medical benefit pool dollars is cost neutral.
