RE: North Fork Elementary School Update  

• Our teachers enjoyed meeting with families during conferences during the last week of March! We had 89% of our families participate either by attending in person, via Google Meets, or through a phone conference.   
• Woodland Reads is off the ground, and students are halfway through the book, The Mouse and the Motorcycle. Daily questions are asked over the announcements concerning the chapters of the day. Winners are drawn daily, and grand prizes will be drawn at the culminating family event on May 2nd. We will have a family night to watch the movie. We also have community members bringing their motorcycles for students to sit on and get a picture. 
• Our Kindergarten Kick Off is scheduled for May 16th from 4 - 5:30 pm. We are excited to meet our new families during this time when students can get a free book, ride a school bus, and meet all the kindergarten teachers. 
• We had our first annual Learning Exhibition. Families did a walking tour of learning exhibits through our halls. It was a great opportunity to show off the depth of learning content of our new CKLA Curriculum. Students are engaged and enjoying the science and history content embedded in the reading curriculum.
