RE: Columbia Elementary Board Report

Columbia Elementary Enrollment: 401 Students

Columbia's enrollment is keeping steady at over 400 students K-4. 

Columbia Elementary Academic Growth Data:

Columbia recently completed its end-of-the-year benchmark assessments. Our teachers and students have worked tremendously hard to improve both our academics and assessment scores.

Below are a few graphs showing Columbia Elementary's K-4 growth in both Reading and Math.

Next Steps for Columbia Elementary:

1. Columbia is proud of the growth students have made during the 2022-2023 school year. As a school, we will be focusing on identifying ways for students to retain their growth and knowledge over the summer. Additionally, CES is also focusing on ways to ensure that incoming kindergarten students are arriving closer to grade level than in previous years. 
2. Columbia is working on understanding the disconnect between our DIBELS and our spring Smarter Balanced (SBAC) scores, as there is a rather large disconnect between the correlation of the scores.
3. Columbia is working on identifying alternative ways to give more support in the areas of mathematics for the 2023-2024 school year.
