REPORTS TO THE BOARD
Student Representative Report – The directors all noted that the recent Woodland High School paper looked great. Student Representative Jamie Gonzales pointed out the front page since the Girls’ Volleyball Team took 2nd place at the state competition.
Facilities and Safety Report – Director Watts and Stuart commented on how impressive the electrical cost reductions looked. Credit for the improvement was given to our HVAC technician Brian Wrigley. Director Watts asked for more details on the student accidents/incidents information and why there has been an increase in reports. Superintendent Green explained that under Scott Landrigan’s leadership the district has become more vigilant in reporting all accidents/incidents. He further indicated that the schools have seen a significant increase in the number of students who have significant impacts to their behavior. He noted that many of the incidents are from repeat offenders. Director Sarah Stuart asked if this could be a topic discussed at a study session. Michael replies yes if the board desires. Lastly, Director Watts asked about how the key access system would work for employees and cost. Superintendent Green explained that each card would be assigned an employee and could track date, time and entry point information. These cards can allow or deny access based on needs. Current cost analyst is showing $7-10K per door for the complete system.
Human Resources Report – Director Matt Donald commented on how much he appreciated the new report and thanked Vicky Barnes for all her hard work.
Technology Director Report – Director Steve Madsen asked for a little clarification with the wireless information provided. The report noted that wireless is in pretty much every corner of the district. He asked which buildings are included in the word “District.” Superintendent Green explained that Yale and TEAM High were included, however, some of the older portables were not.
