Last week for bus driver appreciation, Woodland joined with Ridgefield, La Center, and Kalama and made thank you bags for our bus drivers. They were delivered on Friday along with a big bowl of snacks for office staff. The bags included snacks, an apple, and bottled water individually packaged for the driver. The schools were asked to do signs thanking our bus drivers for their amazing work!

I attended a conference in Spokane from February 28 to March 1. The breakout sessions were on investigations, tracking leave, mentor programs, and other human resource related topics. I learn so much at these conferences and bring home information for other administrators who could benefit from it. 

I have also had more processing appointments both in new hires and substitutes. We have hired into some of our hard to fill positions for our classified and have expanded our substitute pool. 

Lastly, I am tracking and reporting resignations of staff as we prepare for the 2022-2023 school year. I will attend the Oregon Professional Educator Fair on March 29, and gather resumes from potential candidates.
